Wawona Peach Recall Notice

Dear Daylight Customer,

RE: Regarding Wawona Voluntarily Recall Assorted Bagged Peaches due to possible Salmonella enteritidis contamination

We wanted to alert our valued customers of a recall in the industry as a current food safety.

Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California is voluntarily recalling its Wawona, 2 lb. bagged peaches because the product could possibly be contaminated with Salmonella.

Daylight Foods has purchased yellow peaches from Wawona on August 1st and July 28th with Lot# 454960010 and #454751002, and is officially recalling these lots as part of the FDA investigation regarding the possible link to Salmonella.

The customers with the above lots are requested to hold and return the peaches to the Daylight Foods.

This advice includes all yellow peach varieties such as bagged and bulk/loose spec product.

Onion Recall Notice

Dear Daylight Customer,

RE: Thompson International Onion Varieties Salmonella sp. Bakersfield, CA
Outbreak – Food Safety Alert Only

We wanted to alert our valued customers of a recall in the industry as a current food safety update
only.

The FDA have recalled all varieties of onions from Thompson International which may have linked
to
Salmonella sp. at Bakersfield, CA. Currently the investigation is on to determine further
information to traceback the infected onions. Thomson International, Inc. has notified FDA that it
will be recalling all varieties of onions that could have come in contact with potentially contaminated
red onions, due to the risk of cross-contamination. This recall would include red, white, yellow, and
sweet onions from Thomson International, Inc. Recall information will be made public as soon as it
is available from Thomson International, Inc.

Please be advised Daylight Foods is not impacted by this recall. Daylight Foods has not sourced
or shipped any varieties of onions from Thompson International, Bakersfield, CA.

Boxed Grocery Curbside Pick Up!

LOCAL RESIDENTS: In a state of emergency we know that our #BayArea communities are working hard to find the mealtime staples they need to feed their families. For stress free and socially distant shopping Daylight Foods will be open to the PUBLIC and will offer fresh grocery pre-packed boxes for curbside pick up starting TOMORROW Saturday March 21st and will continue MONDAY-FRIDAY 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Our Commitment to Safety – COVID19 Widespread Awareness and Preventive Management

We all know about the outbreak of respiratory disease by COVID-19, impacting throughout the world and further worse on people with low immune system. Daylight Foods is well aware of the outbreak and we are doing our best to educate and communicate with every employee and vendor, ensuring they are not affected by the virus or showing symptoms.

Although there is no evidence that fresh produce transfers the virus, the Daylight Food is geared up to strengthen its food safety against COVID-19 through educating employee’s for

  • clean environment
  • personal hygiene
  • separate ill employees
  • hand washing and GMP policies
  • sneeze/cough use tissue or distance > 6ft from neighbor individuals
We have installed new sanitizer (60-90% ethyl alcohol) dispensers at employee point of entries and loading docks. Daylight Foods have restricted international vendors and educate our drivers for usage of N95 respiratory masks if required.

Our department Managers and HR team continuously communication about; hand wash, signs of fever and international travel plans. Further, we are strictly prohibiting any confirmed ill employees from entering the facility during the course of infection. Please click here for the CDC link outlining the safety measures for employees at food business.

Romaine/Romaine Food Safety Alert

Dear Daylight Customer,

The CDC just announced a Food Safety Alert related to E. Coli O157:H7 referencing Romaine products grown outdoors in the Salinas areas.  Below is the link for your reference.

At this time the Food Safety Alert is only related to Romaine grown and harvested in Salinas, CA.  Daylight Foods has put all product on hold that contains Romaine from this growing region.  Romaine harvested from other regions such as Yuma, Mexico or grown indoors is not associated at this time. 

In the interest of our customers safety we will be labeling all products that contain Romaine with a label stating “NOT from Salinas” in addition to the Harvest location tag that is included on all product boxes until further notice.  We have included a reference guide for Harvest Location Tag identification.

Mann Packing Co., Inc. Voluntarily Recalls Vegetable Products Sold in the United States and Canada Due to Potential Health Risks

November 3, 2019 Dear Daylight Customer, Mann’s Packing Co. is voluntarily recalling specific vegetables which have a best if used by date of September 24th – November 16th due to Listeria sp. The lot numbers listed below are related to the voluntary recall of Broccoli that Daylight Foods received during this time frame. 436620 436813 437831 439254 439399 439576 438451 438701 439022 438817 Daylight Foods did not provide you the product in question but as a valued partner we wanted to keep you informed. As a precaution if you have any Broccoli from Mann Packing please discard immediately and inform our Customer Care Hot Line at (510)931-4207.

Talley Farms voluntarily recalls Arroyo Grande Cilantro – Food safety Alert Only!

We wanted to alert our valued customers of a recall in the industry as a current food safety update only.

Please be advised Daylight Foods is not impacted by this recall. Daylight has not sourced or shipped any Arroyo Grande brand fresh cilantro from Talley Farms.

Talley Farms is voluntarily recalling limited number of cartons of “Arroyo Grande” brand fresh cilantro. The recalled cilantro was harvested between October 4, 2019 and October 17, 2019 containing either 30 or 60 bunches of Cilantro bound with a Talley farms twist tie.
