RE: Outbreak of Salmonella Infections Linked to Whole, Fresh Papayas Imported from Mexico

Dear Daylight Customer,

We wanted to pass this information regarding the Salmonella Outbreak in the industry to our valued customers as a current Food Safety update only.

Here is the updated information regarding the CDC Public Advisory on Imported Papayas from Mexico.

CDC Food Safety Alert for Fresh Papayas Imported from Mexico:

CDC is advising that consumers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island not eat any whole, fresh papayas from Mexico.

This investigation is ongoing and the advice will be updated when more information is available.

The FDA strongly advises importers, suppliers, and distributors, as well as restaurants, retailers and other food service providers from all states to hold whole, fresh papayas imported from Mexico.


As this information changes or updates we will be sure to keep you informed.

As per CDC advise Daylight Foods will not be selling any Mexican Papayas until further notice.

Market Alert: Henry Avocados

We wanted to pass this information regarding the recall in the industry to our valued customers as a current food safety update only.

Please be advised Daylight Foods is not affected by this recall.

HENRY AVOCADO RECALLS WHOLE AVOCADOS BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE HEALTH RISK
Henry Avocado Corporation is voluntarily recalling California-grown whole avocados sold in bulk at retail stores because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Henry Avocado is issuing this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution due to positive test results on environmental samples taken during a routine government inspection at its California packing facility. There are no reported illnesses associated with this recall.
The recalled products: California-grown conventional and organic avocados — were packed at Henry Avocado’s packing facility in California and distributed in Arizona, California, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Wisconsin. All shipments from the packing facility are subject to the recall (Henry Avocado did not begin packing there until late January 2019). Avocados imported from Mexico and distributed by Henry Avocado are not subject to the recall and may continue to be sold and consumed.

Update on Yuma, AZ grown Romaine Lettuce E. coli Outbreak

Dear Daylight Customer,

This investigation is ongoing and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will provide updates when more information is available and we will continue to update our customers as information comes in. Click here for the latest update from the CDC.

As the investigation continued, the CDC repeated its advice to the public: “Do not serve or sell any romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona, growing region.”

Please be assured, at this time all of our current supplies of Romaine lettuce are from California growing area. We have been shipping only California grown Romaine Lettuce as of 4/15/18.

Update on Romaine Lettuce – E. coli Outbreak.

Dear Daylight Customer,

 

RE: Update on Romaine Lettuce – E. coli Outbreak.

 

Based on new information, CDC is expanding its warning to consumers to cover All Types of romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region. This warning now includes whole heads and hearts of romaine lettuce, in addition to chopped romaine and salads and salad mixes containing romaine.

At this time no common grower, supplier, distributor, or brand has been identified.

 

Please be assured, at this time all of our current supplies of Romaine lettuce are out of Salinas, California growing area. We have been shipping only California grown Romaine Lettuce of 4/15/18.

RE: Chopped Romaine – E. coli Outbreak.

Dear Daylight Customers,

RE: Chopped Romaine – E. coli Outbreak.

The Center for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) issued a broad scale public health notice indicating that chopped romaine lettuce from Yuma, AZ growing region could be contaminated with Shiga Toxin producing E. coli O157:H7.

At this time, no common grower, supplier, distributor, or brand has been identified. Daylight has done its due diligence in verifying from its suppliers if our lots are affected.

Please see attached letter of Assurance from our chopped romaine suppliers (Taylor Farms) stating that our lots are not affected.

UPDATE: Out of abundance of caution Daylight Foods is not shipping any Chopped Romaine starting tonight.
