Straus Family Creamery

Straus Family Creamery was founded by Albert Straus on his family’s dairy farm in Marshall, California, building on a legacy of land stewardship that began in the early 1940s along the shores of Tomales Bay. Guided by early environmental principles, Straus pioneered organic dairy practices decades ahead of the industry—eliminating herbicides and chemical fertilizers, adopting no-till farming, recycling food byproducts into cow feed, and implementing advanced manure-to-nutrient systems. Today, Straus sources milk from 13 USDA Organic–certified family farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties, where cows graze on pesticide-free coastal grasses and are never treated with hormones or antibiotics, delivering premium dairy while protecting family farms, rural communities, and the environment.
