Turning food waste back into food
In 2022, Daylight Foods initiated a Food Recover Program piloting this program with Stanford University. We pick up food that was prepared that day and not used, bring it back to our warehouse and it is then picked up by our partners at Daily Bowl. It is then redistributed to feed the food insecure in the bay area. Some of the partners are Oakland Food Works, White Pony Express, San Leandro PAL, and City of Fremont Senior Center to name a few.
