About

Masumoto Family Farm was founded in 1948 by Takashi “Joe” Masumoto after returning to California following the unjust incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Through resilience, family labor, and care for the land, the Masumoto family transformed their acreage south of Fresno into a thriving organic orchard. Today, farmer and author David “Mas” Masumoto continues the legacy alongside his wife Marcy and daughter Nikiko, growing organic peaches, nectarines, apricots, and raisins on their 80-acre farm while sharing the story of farming, heritage, and land stewardship through books such as Epitaph for a Peach.
