Wawona Peach Recall Notice

Dear Daylight Customer,

RE: Regarding Wawona Voluntarily Recall Assorted Bagged Peaches due to possible Salmonella enteritidis contamination

We wanted to alert our valued customers of a recall in the industry as a current food safety.

Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California is voluntarily recalling its Wawona, 2 lb. bagged peaches because the product could possibly be contaminated with Salmonella.

Daylight Foods has purchased yellow peaches from Wawona on August 1st and July 28th with Lot# 454960010 and #454751002, and is officially recalling these lots as part of the FDA investigation regarding the possible link to Salmonella.

The customers with the above lots are requested to hold and return the peaches to the Daylight Foods.

This advice includes all yellow peach varieties such as bagged and bulk/loose spec product.

Onion Recall Notice

RE: Thompson International Onion Varieties Salmonella sp. Bakersfield, CA
Outbreak – Food Safety Alert Only

We wanted to alert our valued customers of a recall in the industry as a current food safety update
only.

The FDA have recalled all varieties of onions from Thompson International which may have linked
to
Salmonella sp. at Bakersfield, CA. Currently the investigation is on to determine further
information to traceback the infected onions. Thomson International, Inc. has notified FDA that it
will be recalling all varieties of onions that could have come in contact with potentially contaminated
red onions, due to the risk of cross-contamination. This recall would include red, white, yellow, and
sweet onions from Thomson International, Inc. Recall information will be made public as soon as it
is available from Thomson International, Inc.

Please be advised Daylight Foods is not impacted by this recall. Daylight Foods has not sourced

As the nation makes an effort to manage the Coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis, we will continue to make every effort to protect employees and ensure the safety of our products. Overall, we do not want to operate out of fear and will continue to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the situation as much as possible.
Due to reduced service operations we will only be making deliveries:

Order cut off times:
  • Pre-Cut Items: 1:00 PM
  • All Other Items: 5:00 PM
Delivery times will be variable as this is a fluid situation that is changing hour, by hour.

Our Commitment to Safety – COVID19 Widespread Awareness and Preventive Management

We all know about the outbreak of respiratory disease by COVID-19, impacting throughout the world and further worse on people with low immune system. Daylight Foods is well aware of the outbreak and we are doing our best to educate and communicate with every employee and vendor, ensuring they are not affected by the virus or showing symptoms.

Although there is no evidence that fresh produce transfers the virus, the Daylight Food is geared up to strengthen its food safety against COVID-19 through educating employee’s for

  • clean environment
  • personal hygiene
  • separate ill employees
  • hand washing and GMP policies
  • sneeze/cough use tissue or distance > 6ft from neighbor individuals
We have installed new sanitizer (60-90% ethyl alcohol) dispensers at employee point of entries and loading docks. Daylight Foods have restricted international vendors and educate our drivers for usage of N95 respiratory masks if required.

Our department Managers and HR team continuously communication about; hand wash, signs of fever and international travel plans. Market Alert: Henry Avocados

HENRY AVOCADO RECALLS WHOLE AVOCADOS BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE HEALTH RISK
Henry Avocado Corporation is voluntarily recalling California-grown whole avocados sold in bulk at retail stores because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Henry Avocado is issuing this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution due to positive test results on environmental samples taken during a routine government inspection at its California packing facility. There are no reported illnesses associated with this recall.
The recalled products: California-grown conventional and organic avocados — were packed at Henry Avocado’s packing facility in California and distributed in Arizona, California, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Wisconsin. All shipments from the packing facility are subject to the recall (Henry Avocado did not begin packing there until late January 2019). Avocados imported from Mexico and distributed by Henry Avocado are not subject to the recall and may continue to be sold and consumed.

Update on Yuma, AZ grown Romaine Lettuce E. coli Outbreak

Dear Daylight Customer,

This investigation is ongoing and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will provide updates when more information is available and we will continue to update our customers as information comes in. Click here for the latest update from the CDC.

As the investigation continued, the CDC repeated its advice to the public: “Do not serve or sell any romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona, growing region.”

Please be assured, at this time all of our current supplies of Romaine lettuce are from California growing area. We have been shipping only California grown Romaine Lettuce as of 4/15/18.

Update on Romaine Lettuce – E. coli Outbreak.

Dear Daylight Customer,

 

RE: Update on Romaine Lettuce – E. coli Outbreak.

 

Based on new information, CDC is expanding its warning to consumers to cover All Types of romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region. This warning now includes whole heads and hearts of romaine lettuce, in addition to chopped romaine and salads and salad mixes containing romaine.

At this time no common grower, supplier, distributor, or brand has been identified.

 

Please be assured, at this time all of our current supplies of Romaine lettuce are out of Salinas, California growing area. We have been shipping only California grown Romaine Lettuce of 4/15/18.
